We' ve actually followed this process for a whole week (in spite of some weather challenges). I didn't post yesterday. However, we did successfully cook 15 fresh eggs...kind of like boiling without the water. Nick also did another batch of his wonderful rosemary bread. We also cooked some chicken thighs for dinner. The chicken required a couple minutes to finish inside due to a sudden change in weather. I'll report our experience in cooking chicken and rice later today.
OK, sometimes nature fights with you a bit. We got the oven set up. The winds kicked in at 35 to 55 mph, dragging the clouds in. So, I finished cooking the rice on the stove inside. We were preparing the dish not only for our dinner, but for another household as well. As we were beginning to prepare the final dish, which required baking, the high winds put down the local power grid....not too helpful with an electric range!
Let's see....no sun, no electricity. We also own a Camp Chef gas cook stove with NO OVEN. We were able to fashion an oven from the BBQ box by removing the grill plates. Hey, one needs to prepare for any situation!
